“Music is a universal language that uniquely
communicates through energy, emotion, and intellect.
The ability to objectively combine talent and
experiences from the past and present, gives the
composer opportunities to introduce yet another
universal concept for the future.“ M.S.

Composer |
Milen started composing at the age of 16, while
attending the well respected professional music
school "Filip Kutev" in Kotel, Bulgaria. In
1997 Slavov came to America with the dream of
sharing his inspiration and talents. In 2000
the US government awarded Milen Slavov permanent
residency as an "Artist of Extraordinary Ability".
Milen composes music with a world music fusion feel,
influenced by his Bulgarian/Balkan/Eastern-European
heritage. In the last 15 years the younger
generation of musicians in Bulgaria have been using
many of Milen's works as a model to follow.
The hit songs and instrumentals Milen has composed
are taught at music schools and academies.
Slavov has mastered his own musical style – songs
and musical expressions of moods and characters –
fusing exotic vocals, acoustic and digital
instruments, diverse styles, virtuosic and lyrical
passages. The understanding of and fascination
with human existence helps Slavov create music
reflecting all aspects of human nature.

"Slavov demonstrates the
capacity to cross not only the boundaries of time
and space but also enter the variable dimensions of
human experience."
Greg Smith, Professor of Teacher Education, Lewis &
Clark College, Portland Oregon
"You have an enormous talent and your music is
vibrant and exciting and your playing...simply
incredible!"
Avraham Sternklar, pianist, composer, educator
"Your
special modality involving "World Music" is an
offering of true value in these times."
Herbert Rothgarber, composer, educator
"Milen Slavov’s compositions for accordion are a
wonderful combination of references to the oldest
part of the rich heritage of Bulgarian folk music
and new ideas that are fresh and original."

| Producer |
With constant self-criticism, curiosity and desire
to analyze and understand objectivity in life,
Slavov has developed a music production philosophy
with a universal scope surpassing borders and
nationality – a concept that no matter where in the
world, people have more similarities than
differences.
Milen has produced countless songs and
instrumentals, many of which have become hits -
especially in Bulgaria - for the last 15 years.
Slavov has also produced world music cultural events
in the US and in Bulgaria, promoting the
preservation of folk traditions and encouraging the
exploration of high-quality musical innovation.
As a producer, Milen offers a valuable experience
and talent to truly discover and guide the abilities
of any performer. He shapes a unique concept and
criteria implemented within the musical production,
presenting the music and the performer in the best
possible way.

| Performer |
Milen is a master piano accordionist performing
original music in Bulgarian/Balkan traditional and
contemporary styles, and world music fusion. He
is also a master improviser delivering original smooth jazz on
piano/keyboard.
Milen started performing on stage when he was 8
years old. Since his coming to America in
1997, Slavov has performed, composed, produced, and
taught throughout the United States.
Slavov's performances often fuse fiery passages,
lyrical motives, exotic vocals, and odd meters - all
to be musical expressions (often created
on-the-spot) portraying a particular mood or
emotion.
Milen appears on the "Masters of the Accordion" CD
compilation published by ARC Music Productions of
Great Britain. Slavov was a guest teacher at
the UCLA Ethnomusicology Department for the 1998/99
academic year. He has collaborated with Zhivka
Papancheva, Petyo Kostadinov, Tim Rice, Joe LoDuca,
